Knee Pain and Instability can be caused by a lot of different things but, in athletes between the ages of 30-52, there are some usual culprits that are most likely the cause. The most common cause of Knee Issues in althletes would have to be continued wear and tear caused by the trama of competing at a high level. This "wear and tear" is also known as Osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is something that commonly affects older adults but it is also especially prevalent in High Level Athletes. In the knee, Osteoarthritis most commonly manifest as a breakdown of the cartilage in between the upper and lower leg.
